Job Description
Ackerman McQueen is seeking an Account Manager to manage two to three major accounts. The Account Manager should have a deep understanding of their clients’ needs and clients’ business(es) as well as consumers’ perspectives on those businesses.
The ideal candidate will know how to motivate internal staff to develop the most effective solutions for their clients and will also know how to build meaningful long-lasting client relationships based on trust and mutual respect. The account manager is also responsible for managing budgets and schedules on their book of business and keeping management informed of clients’ needs.
Objectives
- Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships
- Maintain accurate client records
- Work with internal teams to develop strategic plans and ensure KPIs are well-defined and met
- Develop a thorough understanding of our products and service offerings to better cross-sell to clients
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a working relationship and communicate regularly with client contacts
- Lead all project planning as well as annual planning sessions with the client
- Collaborate with clients to determine their needs and actively participate in building supportive strategies
- Identify and present new opportunities that align with client objectives and agency business
- Have a deep understanding of the client’s business, industry and market influences
- Work with internal staff to design marketing strategies and media proposals
- Actively seek additional projects/new business from client contacts
- Draft and share creative briefs with internal teams and clients for approval
- Participate in the ideation of the creative product to ensure alignment with project scope and expectations
- Collaborate with creative and strategic management to ensure the client projects are completed on strategy, on time and budget
- Meet regularly with team members to discuss project progress and new ways to improve business
- Author and distribute call reports for all client meetings
- Passionately present and defend agency work products and proposals
- Regularly informs agency leadership of account progress and challenges
- Manage budgets, monthly projections and billing
- Work with account administrative staff in preparing invoices and estimates
- Approve invoices before client delivery
Skills & Qualifications
- Multi-task with several clients and projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding expectations and receiving positive client feedback
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheets
- Willingness to learn agency project management software
- Knowledge of HubSpot is a plus
